Do you want to feed kangaroos? Hanging out or even take some selfies with kangaroos?
Not so far north of Sydney, less than 2 hours drive. There is a place called Morriset.
It is in Lake Macquarie area which is Australia's largest coastal salt water lagoon.
Located in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, it covers an area of 110 square kilometres (42.5 sq mi) and is connected to the Tasman Sea by a short channel.
If you go to the park around the old psychiatric hospital in Morriset, you'll find some wild kangaroos.
We have been there a number of times, I have noticed now there are some tourists go there too.
these kangaroos are tame & quite friendly most of times but I have heard stories that some people were attacked because some idiots were hitting them with a stick.
Keep in mind that a Kangaroos' claws can cut your chest open! So, don't pat, hit or chase them around. Let them come to you.
We feed them carrots or apples or other fruits/veggies.
And FFS, kangaroos are wild animals.... please do not feed them McDonalds, they are not bogans!
And no bread either, bread is bad for their health.
So, the next drive you are driving up north from Sydney to Port Stephens or Newcastle area, you might want to check this place out.
This park is full of kangaroos' poops, it's a good idea for you to wear shoes not thongs (sandals) nor bare-feet.
